Try this fantastic recipe for Golden Apple Cake from the Eckert Family Cookbook.
Grandma Eckert's Apple Pie Recipe
- 6-7 cups sliced Golden Delicious Apples
- Dash of cinnamon
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 TBSP flour
- 6 TBSP cream (optional)
- 1 TBSP butter or margarine, melted
- 2 (9-inch) unbaked pie crusts
In a mixing bowl, combine apples, cinnamon, sugar, flour, cream (if desired) and butter and mix well. Pour into pie crust; place second crust on top, flute edges to seal, prick top with a fork and brush with milk. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes; reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees and bake for an additional 45 minutes.
Note: Pie may be frozen, baked or unbaked, for future use. Wrap in aluminum foil or place in frezer bags. Do not thaw unbaked pie before baking.

Pumpkin Peanut Butter Dip For Apples
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3/4 cup canned pumpkin
In a medium bowl, mix brown sugar and peanut butter. Add vanilla and stir. Add pumpkin and stir until well blended. Serve with sliced apples. Yum!!
