Notes from the Farm: Easter Egg-Citemen

It is hard to believe that Easter is just a little over a month away, which means we are busy preparing for our first BIG event of the year. Easter Egg-Citement is an exciting time for us as we welcome the first signs of spring and all of you back to our farm.

We have been hosting Easter Egg-Citement at our Belleville Farm for over fifteen years and although it is one of our longest standing events, we look forward to the fun that it brings every year!

If you have never been out to our farm for Egg-Citement, here is a rundown of what to expect. We offer this fun-filled event the three weekends leading up to Easter. This year you can enjoy all the activities on March 17, 18, 24, 25, 30 & 31. We encourage you to make your reservations online to ensure that you will get the date and time slot you really desire. We will host egg hunts every hour on the hour from 9am - 3pm on each of previously mentioned dates.

Once you arrive to the farm, you will check in at the ticket booth at the front of the Fun Corral which is located across from the Garden Center in Belleville. We recommend arriving 20 minutes before your scheduled hunt time. This allows you to get checked in and to the hunt spot without rushing. We have Easter baskets available for purchase, but you are more than welcome to bring your own and DON'T forget your camera….there are so many cute photo opportunities!!

Each hour we will host three hunts which are determined by the ages of the children. Kids 0-2 will hunt together, children 3-5 will hunt together and then everyone 6 and over will hunt together. This ensures that the little kids are safe while hunting and also provides an opportunity for parents to watch and take pictures of each of their children hunting eggs. Each child will hunt for 12 plastic eggs that will be hidden in rows of our apple orchard. The eggs are filled with small trinkets. If you would rather your child not have those little treasures, you can opt to trade the eggs and trinkets in for a piece of fruit, this is a great option for younger children!

The fun doesn't stop there. We will have the CUTEST bunnies and chicks for petting and snuggling. This is seriously such a cute area! The animals are so sweet and it seems like it is the top pick for kids and photos. We will have several of our team members in the animal tent to help you and your kids get acquainted with our tiny little friends.

It's not a festival without face painting. While there are several designs to choose from, this sweet little bunny face is a winner every time.

We think it is so important to show kids where food comes from, so as part of Easter Egg-Citement, each child will get to plant a seed, take it home and watch it grow into a vibrant green bean plant. The sense of accomplishment the kids get from planting, caring for and harvesting is unmatched.

A trip to the farm isn't complete, without a tractor ride. Don't miss this part, it's one for the memory book!
