Run! Run! As fast as you can, you can’t catch me I’m the Gingerbread Man!

Hanging the stockings, decorating the tree, and baking cookies are all wonderful holiday traditions, but it’s time to add one more to your list! Building gingerbread houses is a wonderful way to get the whole family together. Baking your own gingerbread for houses can take some time, and we all know that during the holiday season we don’t have much extra time. Let Eckert’s make it easier on you! Eckert’s holds Gingerbread House Workshops every weekend until Christmas from 10am – 4pm in the Country Store. This gives you the opportunity to build and create your very own gingerbread house without the trouble of making the dough, cutting out the cookies, and baking the gingerbread. We do all the baking, and you get to do the building and decorating! Not only is this a great way to get in the Holiday spirit, but it is also a terrific way to spend time with family and friends. It has become a tradition for my family to hold a gingerbread house competition every Christmas! After we read the story of Hansel and Gretel or The Gingerbread Man, we draw names out of a hat to find out who our teams will be that year! We all team up to build the perfect house and everyone young and old gathers together to talk, laugh, and create! Eckert’s gingerbread kits are available for purchase in the Country Store and you can either take them home, or build them here and let us take care of the mess!
