Bursting with sweetness, Eckert’s peaches herald the arrival of summer. The Eckert family selects only the best-tasting peach varieties.
Tired of eating peaches from a can? Eckert’s pick-your-own fruit orchards are the perfect place to get fresh peaches every summer. There’s nothing quite like the taste of a ripe peach that you’ve picked directly off the tree. Our sixth- and seventh-generation farmers know that as well, which is why we let you pick your own at our Grafton, IL, Belleville IL and Versailles, KY locations during harvest seasons. Get an all-day Field Access Pass and take a ride in our wagons out to the orchard to find fruit fresher than even our farmer’s markets. You can stay as long as we’re open!
Eckert’s Family Farms are one of the leading attractions for family outings, and our pick-your-own crops are a big reason why. Grab a few peaches off a tree to snack on as you explore the fields on a relaxing summer day. Or, get a bushel full of them to bring home and make your own delicious pies, cobblers, jams, ice cream or sweet adult beverage. Get a few bushels if you’re feeling really peachy. The Grafton, Versailles and Belleville country stores have plenty of peach-inspired creations, so come on in to sample treats and get ideas for your own kitchen.
Everyone in the family will love spending an afternoon breathing the fresh air and enjoying the fresh crops. We have apples, blackberries, strawberries and other seasonal fruits available for picking as well. The tasty fruits will fill your belly and the memories will last a lifetime. Visit our Crop Updates page to find out when the peaches will be ready for harvest, and make sure to be here to get these soft, juicy delicacies for your home!

Buying and Storing
When selecting peaches, choose slightly firm and plump peaches that yield somewhat to pressure. Blushes are an indicator of the variety of peach, but not its ripening status. Tree-ripened peaches need additional ripening once purchased to increase their softness and juiciness. Place peaches in a paper bag, and set a room temperature for 2 to 3 days. Do not refrigerate unripe peaches because this inhibits ripening and causes the fruit to become dry, mealy, and flavorless. Once peaches are ripe, they can be refrigerated from 5 to 7 days.
